All good things must come to an end and that's exactly what happened today as the Brewers 11 game winning streak over the Astros came to an end in a 7-5 loss to close out the Miller Park homestand.

Lots of action happened in this one so let's dive right in, shall we?

Starters:
MIL: Shaun Marcum (1-1, 4.13 ERA) - 5IP, 8H, 4R, 3ER, 4BB, 7K (99, 60 strikes)
HOU:
 J.A. Haap (1-1, 4.70 ERA) - 5IP, 7H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB, 8K, 2HR (103 pitches, 64 strikes)

Brewers Highlights:
Corey Hart: 2-3, 1BB, 1RBI (13), 1HR (6),
Ryan Braun: 2-5, 2R, 2RBI (11), 1HR (4)
Carlos Gomez: 2-5, 1R, 1 triple, .371 avg
Travis Ishikawa: 1-3, 1RBI (5), 1HR (2)

Astros Highlights:
Jose Altuve: 4-5, 1RBI (8), 3 runs scored
J.D. Martinez: 3-4, 3RBI (18)
Chris Synder: 2-4, 1RBI (3)

Notes:

- Need a reason this game wen the Astros way?  Check out the teams RISP: Astros - 5-for-15 vs. Brewers - 0-for-7.  Ya, I'd say that's not exactly a way to win a game, just saying.

- Carlos Gomez is finally hitting and continued to show why the platoon is a great idea with his 2-5 day and .371

- Ryan Braun's 2 run shot held the 2nd best WPA (Wins Probability Added) of the game at + .185 but later in the game Chris Synder's RBI single in the 7th outpaced that and proved why the WPA is such a great stat with it going for a - .187.  Yep, that's the difference in the ball game.

- Once again the middle relief for Milwaukee can't come through at all as Jose Veras (2H, 1R, 1ER) and Mike McClendon (2IP, 4H, 2R, 2ER) gave up the lead after a good inning of work from Tim Dillard, who may becoming the best "middle relief" option this team has, but we'll save that whole arguement for another topic...

- If you like drama then this was the series and the game for you as neither team could hold on to a lead to save their lives.

Up Next: Milwaukee has tomorrow off before a weekend series with the St. Louis Cardinals.  Yes, it's early in the season, but winning the series would be a huge help in climbing back in the race with the Cards.
