Braden Looper kept the ball in the ballpark -- a rarity considering his league-leading 23 home runs allowed entering the game -- and Prince Fielder delivered on two separate RBI opportunities to give the Brewers a 2-0 win. After an ugly, prolonged loss in the series opener, a quick and boring win was definitely a sight for sore eyes.
Even with a lack of scoring plays, there was no shortage of highlights. J.J. Hardy and his feet of stone managed to leg out an infield single, Ryan Braun made one of his patented sliding catches, and Mike Cameron made a head-first diving catch.
The Brewers slapped Pirates pitching around to the tune of 12 hits, but only managed 2 runs. Still, a win is a win, especially when your main competition in the division -- the Cubs and Cardinals -- are struggling to win games.
Injury note: Felipe Lopez left the game early with hamstring tightness. Nothing yet on if he'll have to miss tomorrow's game, but you'd have to think that Casey McGehee would be ready to play tomorrow after getting the night off.
