1. They took 2 of 3 from the World Champion Phillies...in their park,
2. The number 5 starter, Dave Bush, no-hit the Phils over 7 1/3rd innings,
3, The win represented the first back-to-back wins for the Crew this year, and, most importantly,
4. Thursday's impressive 6-1 win was the first time all year that both the Brewers' hitting and pitching contributed to a win over a playoff team from last year.
Also, the Crew will carry some momentum into Houston this weekend, as well as a bit more confidence that they are starting to get out of their slumps. Plus, with Trevor Hoffman due back on Sunday, Todd Coffey can be moved back to the set-up for the 7th and 8th innings, essentially leaving the 6th open to be covered by Carlos Villanueva, Seth McClung, Mark DiFelice, and the others*. (*=the others are TBD, as Brewers' GM Doug Melvin will need to re-assign a reliever once Hoffman is added to the 25-man, and again once David Riske comes off the DL).
Look for more signs of life in Houston this weekend.
