Series Preview: Brewers (83-63) @ Phillies (79-67)

The Brewers head out on the road for their most important series of the '08 season thus far--four games at Philadelphia to face the Phillies, one of three teams that are just four games back in the loss column for the NL Wild Card--a sweep by the Brewers would almost be the death blow to the Phils' chances of making the postseason; a sweep by the Phils, and the Brewers' would be tied for the NL Wild Card with the Phillies and possibly one or two more teams. The Brewers were 1-1 against the Phils at Miller Park this year, but 3-4 last year; can the Crew find a way to win the series, e.g. win at least 3 games, without CC Sabathia getting a start? 2. The Phillies did not face Ben Sheets earlier this year...and Sheeter only allowed 5 hits and 2 ER's while fanning 8 over 7 2/3rds IP last year at Citizens' Bank. Can Sheets repeat that this year? 3. Manny Parra didn't face the Phils earlier this year, either...can Parra bounce back from his 2-5, 4.45 mark after the All-Star break?
