Series Preview: Brewers (22-25) @ Nationals (20-28)

Written by Jaymes Langrehr on .

The Brewers finish their road trip with four games against the Washington Nationals in D.C.  This is the first time the Brewers face the Nationals in 2008, having won 4 of 6 last year against the Nats.  The Brewers enter the series tied for fourth in the NL Central, 6 games back of the Cubs in the loss column. Pitching Probables: Friday, 5/23, 6:35 p.m. CT: RHP Jeff Suppan (2-3, 4.78) vs. LHP Odalis Perez (1-4, 4.34) Saturday, 5/24, 6:10 p.m. CT: RHP Seth McClung (1-1, 3.54) vs. LHP John Lannan (4-4, 3.40) Sunday, 5/25, 12:35 p.m. CT: LHP Manny Parra (2-2, 4.40) vs. RHP Tim Redding (6-3, 3.16) Monday, 5/26, 12;35 p.m. CT: RHP Ben Sheets (5-1, 2.92) vs. RHP Jason Bergmann (1-1, 5.47) Things to look for:
  1. Will Bill Hall be able to bounce back in the first two games, both against southpaws and, if so, get a shot to face one of the righty starters later in the series?
  2. Can Seth McClung solidify his newly acquired spot in the rotation...will he be able to pitch beyond 5 innings?
  3. Will Salomon Torres be able to be effective closing in place of Eric Gagne and, if not, who will get a shot at the ninth inning?
