Brew Crew averts sweep in 12
Geoff Jenkins' 3-run blast in the 12th inning was enough to give the Brewers the 9-6 win Sunday evening in Texas, and to avert the sweep. The Brewers now sit at 34-29, in first place, still four ahead of the Cardinals in the loss column.
Dave Bush last 4.33 with 3 ER's before getting yanked.
Prince Fielder hit his 23rd dinger of the season.
Francisco Cordero blew another save...but Carlos Villanueva earned the win, to move up to 5-0 in relief. Claudio Vargas pitched the 12th in relief, and is available out of the pen due to the off day Monday mucking up the schedule...yes, the Crew just had last Thursday off, too.
Next up: the Tigers...Jeff Suppan gets the ball Tuesday night, in hopes of repeating last year's World Series domination of Detroit.
